Dating to circa 1900, the motifs on this marble top commode with gilt mounts are definitely in the style of Empire.  French Empire-style furniture was heavily influenced by ancient civilizations, such as Greece, Rome, and Egypt.

CONDITION:  Good antique condition.  Minor losses to veneer on apron molding, with nicks elsewhere.  Light scratches to marble top.  Two functional locks, each with its own key.
