This large, decorative wooden boiserie element from the late 1800s is quite an interesting item. Based on the size, the fact that it depicts a female bust, and the roundel embellishments beneath the neck, we posit that this large French carving was once part of the bow of a ship. For today’s uses, it would make a unique sculptural element or an architectural, such as above a bar.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Commensurate age separations that required some old restoration work, leaving small areas of discoloration. Minor nicks and losses.
