A hearty oak dining table from the 1800s, this French table has a three-inch thick top supported by trestle supports and an even thicker single beam stretcher (3 1/2 inches).  Reminiscent of tables that were used in the dining halls of European monasteries as early as the Medieval times.  The appeal of these tables today is still evident, as the robust tops and trestle supports allow the table to accommodate many guests at once.

CONDITION: Good antique condition.  Presence of old fills, with commensurate age separations and very light rubs to the top.  Minor losses.  The stretcher has inherent undulations.
