Repurposed from a Parisian balcony gate (dating to circa 1900), this console has a cream shellstone top supported by a dark brown cast iron railing. The intricate detailing of the base includes an incredible array of scrolls, curled leaves, swags, ribbons, and rosettes, set in between a pair of Neoclassical pilasters, each surmounted by a medallion of Athena.

CONDITION: Good antique condition. The console base has been repurposed from a circa 1900 balcony, with some restoration from the professional metalworker who added the side returns and the back rails. Commensurate oxidation to the iron, with fleabites and minor losses. The shellstone top, which has been added more recently, has natural cavitations and shell imprints.
