Known as a poissonnière in France, this cylindrical copper piece would have been used to poach fish in the 1800s. The cast iron handle has a notched area to hang on a crémaillère inside a fireplace, allowing the fish to simmer in a mixture of broth, spices, and vegetables.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Light cavitation and rubs to copper. Commensurate buildup to interior.
