Produced by La Manufacture de Madame Veuve Dumas (in the 1800s), this French faience platter has a vibrant ring of images surrounding a center cartouche that has a palette similar to Delftware, with a cobalt blue and white color scheme. The cartouche depicts three putti with a tethered goat. The ring beyond the cartouche has a white ground adorned with repeating elements of urns laden with fruit, peacocks, flowering rinceaux vines, and winged chimera flanking a snake arising from an urn. There are also three furled banners that read “Nevers”, “Rouen”, and “Moustier”.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Light nicks and fleabites. Minor craquelure with a superficial age separation. Very light buildup and rubs, mostly to the edges.
