Fashioned in the style of Louis XVI, this hand-carved trumeau has a seaside painting above the 31 x 22 1/2 vertical mirror. Both the mirror and the painting are surrounded by identical giltwood borders with bead and reel. The gilded motifs continue along the edges of the frame, which has been painted French gray.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. There is an inherent bend to the frame, as well as craquelure (to both the painting and the frame) and age separations. Minor nicks and rubs, resulting in some losses to paint and gilding, with old touchups. Very light loss of silver to mirror.
