Signed and dated by the artist (Jules Bertrand Gelibert, 1904), this antique French painting depicts two French spaniels by the edge of a pond lined with lush vegetation. Obscured from the dogs’ vision is a vibrant mallard, swimming near the pond’s edge. Behind the dogs is a verdant field, cut by a meandering stream, with rolling foothills in the distance under an overcast sky.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Very light wear to canvas, which is signed and dated. Minor age separations and rubs to the giltframe, which has had small areas of professional restoration. Rigged for hanging.
