The tightly turned legs and H-stretcher are an undeniable hallmark of the style of Louis XIII, and they are a prominent aspect of this French table/desk from circa 1890. In addition to the well-carved base, the apron is adorned with foliate margents, with both long sides containing two belt drawers. The shorter ends of the desk are rounded, which highlight the recessed edges of the top that is adorned with partial leaves.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Commensurate wear to the top, presenting as nicks, small losses, and rubs. Minor age separations. An old restoration to a drawer handle, which has been strengthened more recently by a professional. The stretcher toupie finial is missing. No key.
