Known in France as a benitier, this wall-mounted panel is a small holy water stoup. Dating to the 1800s, the benitier has a small, liftable lid that would have been used to hold holy water. The stoup itself features numerous religious iconographies in gilded bronze, which is mounted on a shapely lacquered wood panel.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Very light woodworm traces to wood. Minor buildup to bronze. Not rigged for hanging purposes.
