Dating to around the 1920s, this large French entryway has been painted black with gilded embellishments. The most prominent golden motif is the lyre that adorns each of the wide posts that flank the 84 1/2″ H x 70″ W portal. Gates such as these would often be used as entryways for a garden or courtyard at a French chateau.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Minor buildup and very light rubs, with some minimal paint stains at the bottom. Light losses to gilding on some motifs. Original hardware not present.
