The giltwood frame of this French mirror is delicately embellished with foliate vines that are interrupted in the corners by much larger carved leaves. Dating to circa 1850, the mirror is from the period of Napoleon III, sometimes referred to as The Second Empire.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Commensurate loss of silver to glass, which is a desirable trait, as is the appearance of red bole, which is visible due to gilt losses. Minor age separations and light nicks to frame, which has been professionally touched up. Wired for hanging purposes.
