The details of this panel are quite amazing. Hand-carved in oak during the 1800s, the panel has been bleached more recently, allowing the richness of the motifs to be seen. Depicting the Paschal Lamb reposed on the book of the Seven Seals, a crinkle ribbon vexillum flies overhead, with the entire scene surrounded by a laurel wreath.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Minor nicks and losses, with light age separations. The plaque has been bleached more recently, with traces of the original finish still remaining. Eyelet in the back for hanging purposes. Three holes on the top of the crest indicate that this was once part of a larger installation.
