A charming French vessel from circa 1900, this polished brass wine cooler or jardiniere is adorned with folk art imagery. The main body, which is lobed, depicts a gentleman smoking a pipe. The two handles arise from a bearded mascaron with large pointed ears, possibly detailing a regional urban legend.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Minor indentations to main body with small areas of very light discoloration. There is an old repair to the rolled rim, with insignificant losses to the finish as a result. Commensurate buildup and oxidation to the interior.
