The highly rectilinear form of this commode, coupled with minimalistic carvings, is indicative of the French Directoire style. Dating to the early 1800s (possibly making this a period piece), the walnut wood has been bleached more recently, giving the three tiers of drawers a golden beige hue. Topped by a black stone top, the Directoire commode can be paired with just about every style of interior design, specifically Louis XVI and Empire.
CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Minor scratches to stone top with light nicks and fleabites. Slight traces of old woodworm. The wood has been bleached more recently.
