Hand-carved in the style of the French Regence, this side table from the 1900s is known as a cabaret table. Cabaret tables are recognized by the raised lip, seen here in the form of an undulating edge. The table was designed for entertainment purposes, allowing beverages to be placed safely on the top, with any spills being contained by the raised edges.
CONDITION: Good condition. Intentional distress to finish, presenting as light paint losses and rubs. Very light nicks.
