An impressive French fireback from the 1600s, the large piece of cast iron measures roughly 38 x 39 1/2 inches. Designed with a dual purpose to protect the back wall of a fireplace and radiate the heat back into the room, our fireback depicts the coat of arms of the House of Lorraine.

CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Very light rubs. Commensurate wear, resulting in fleabites, light oxidation, and some faded elements.
