Antique copper pieces are highly sought-after, as they are a rare blend of history, function, and artisan crafting. A beautiful example of such a collectible is our large copper water vessel, which would have been used in the kitchen of French chateaus as early as the 1700s. The polished copper receptacle has two brass loop handles on the side to make it easier to carry. A removable lid, also with a brass handle, would have worked in coordination with the flared collar to prevent contents from spilling out. The copper now sits in an iron support, allowing the kitchen water vessel to be displayed prominently. It could be used as a firewood holder, an umbrella stand, or a unique decorative accent in a kitchen.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Minor cavitations, commensurate with age and use. Light losses to the copper finish. Very light oxidation to the iron support, which has been added more recently.
