A stunning chateau fireplace screen from France, known as a landier.  Dating to circa 1890, the painted wrought iron landier would have been used as a decorative firescreen when the mantel was not in use.  During times when a fire was burning, the landier has ample hooks and cups that would have been used to cook or warm food.

CONDITION:  Good antique condition.  Fleabites and light rubs to iron, with commensurate paint losses that have led to minor oxidation.
