Comprised of nine pieces of hand-carved limestone from Provence, France, this small wall fountain has a high-arching back wall that is mirrored by a more subtly curved basin. A galbe center block bends outwards as it accommodates the pair of iron bars that traverse the roughly rectangular basin. Above the iron bars is a scrolled iron spout that emerges from a carved circular aperture. This configuration is an accurate representation of old French fountains, as villagers would place receptacles on the iron bars to gather water for cooking and cleaning from the spout. Today, these iron bars could be used to support a small planter of flowers. A charming French wall fountain that would instantly enhance a small rose garden or courtyard.

CONDITION: Good condition. Intentional distress, presenting as nicks and losses. Oxidation to iron. Limestone can change colors with exposure to the elements. Please contact us for photos of the current patina.
