Possibly from a 17th/18th century low altar gate in a Chapel, as we have seen a similar example in the past. These particular forged iron gates are adorned with an arabesque of scrolls that are dotted with leaf tips that emanate from a central lobed vase. When the gates are presented together (see photos), the mullion, which is dotted with small, raised florets, reveals a large open crown.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Fleabites and commensurate oxidation, leading to some faded elements.
