The Napoleon III style motifs are fairly evident on these beautiful gilt bronze candelabras. The three sconces sit atop a rising rinceaux of acanthus leaves, which are affixed to the top of lion mascarons joined by a swag. Other motifs include large parted leaves, dolphins, scrolls, and gadroon.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Commensurate wax buildup to sconces, although the candelabras were once electrified (since removed). Very light losses to the gilding. The way the candelabras were constructed was piece-by-piece, leading to some loose elements and one candelabra with a slight tilt, although both candelabras are sturdy and could be remedied by a metal worker.
