Hand-carved circa 1900, this pair of French busts has a rich, light brown patina, typical of pine wood. The busts depict a smiling boy in a cap and scarf, accompanied by a shy girl in a head wrap, looking down. Both children have main bodies that are less refined, resembling tree branches, with a large rose beneath their necks.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Minor age separations and light losses, mainly to the boy, with some areas of slight discoloration. Very light nicks. The busts were mounted previously, as both have drilled holes on the underside.
