Dating to circa 1885, this set of French fauteuils has a wonderful sinuous form, highlighted by the violin backs (note the notched side rails above the arms, reminiscent of a violin body. The prominent seats are covered with green velvet, as are the manchettes and backs.
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Commensurate wear to the upholstery (slight runs and stains), which should be replaced. Evidence of old fills to repair age separations. Light nicks and losses.
