This pair of French wrought iron and tole chenets from the 1940s wonderfully blends sinuous elements with the more rectilinear form of Neoclassical elements. Two whorled volutes, each enveloped in a curled acanthus leaf, form the base of the chenets. The chenets continue to rise in the shape of a pair of Greek key motifs joined by two thick roundels.
CONDITION: Good overall condition. Light oxidation. Commensurate buildup and rubs from use in a fireplace.
