The Neoclassical form of this pair of commodes, paired with the subtle, minimalist carvings, is a hallmark of Directoire-style furniture. The two tiers of drawers are embellished with large painted, flowing margents in white. Most of the chest of drawers have been painted blue with white accents, but the well-done distressed finish leaves areas of exposed wood.
CONDITION: Good condition. Intentional distress, presenting as loss of paint with craquelure, minor nicks, and rubs. A total of four functional locks with two keys.
