Hand-carved in the Neoclassical style, this pair of commodes from Southern Germany has been hand-painted beige with some gray and white accents. The rectilinear forms of the chests of drawers are augmented by the front legs and pilaster above, which are askew, giving the commodes a more angular feel. Supported by four estipite legs reminiscent of Egyptian obelisks, the commodes would make wonderful additions to any house, and could be presented in the same area, or in different rooms.
CONDITION: Good condition. The finish has intentional distress, presenting as light nicks, rubs, and limed areas. No keys.
