Hand-carved in the style of Louis XVI, these Italian giltwood and ebonized sconces from the 1950s have lyre form, complete with three metal strings. The golden lyre is accompanied by a large leaf margent at the base, whose tendrils intertwine with the lower half of the musical instrument. An ebonized crinkled ribbon bow does the same, meandering from above the lyre and eventually mingling with the foliage. Each lyre has a single scrolled metal arm with a cylindrical socket above a saucer bobeche.
CONDITION: Good condition. Minor losses to gilding and ebonized finish. Light nicks and losses. Very light wear to bobeches and sockets. Not wired.
