This offertory would have been used in a church during the 1700s in Charente-Maritime, on the West Coast of France. The oak center cabinet has two carved slots in the top that align with a two-compartment drawer found inside the cabinet behind a well-carved door. The door on the opposing side also swings open to reveal a shelf, possibly used to store alms bowls or candlesticks when not in use.
CONDITION: Strong antique condition. Commensurate age separations, including at the base of one door. Minor nicks and rubs, with very light losses. Light rubs to the interior, with some losses. Two functional locks with two keys. The interior drawer has no guides and sits on a ledge; please use care when sliding out.
