This lithograph from the mid-1800s depicts the renowned English sportsman, Thomas Assheton Smith. Smith served in the House of Commons, but is most noted for being an outstanding cricket player, as well as the Master of the Quorn Hunt, which is one of the world’s oldest fox hunting packs. Smith has signed the paper, as has the master engraver, D. George Thompson.
CONDITION: Strong antique condition. The frame and rigging have been added more recently, with some minor restoration to the paper. The paper still shows commensurate wear, presenting as micro tears, creasing, and buildup.
