Description

Inspired by Islamic art and architecture still present in Iberia during the 1800s, this wrought iron door knocker features repeating chevrons on the circular pull. The handle is encircled by a thick loop at the end of an attaching pin that runs through the center of the accompanying four-inch spiked radial backplate.

In Islamic culture, it is verboten to use figures as ornamentation, leading Muslim artisans to utilize visually stunning geometric patterns, such as the ones seen on this door knocker. A beautiful example of Mudéjar art that would make a wonderful architectural feature for any door, our Iberian door knocker could also be used as a towel holder in a bathroom or kitchen.
